About this blog

John headshotJohn Wright is host of a daily afternoon radio show on KLPZ 1380am, broadcasting from along the California/Arizona state line in the United States. John is a libertarian who established the original Libertarian Reason blog in 2003 as a response to current affairs, contributing to other blogs as well as his own.

Stephen Graham is a freelance writer based in Belfast, Northern Ireland with a profession in legal research and a background in philosophy and theology. Stephen established the original Grumpy Young Man blog to collect his various articles commenting on ethics and libertarianism, a forum which later merged with this one.

Despite their many differences, John and Stephen share two articles of ideology in common: libertarianism (based on an ethical foundation of egoism), and theism (based on rational arguments for the existence of a deity). The first is a minority position in a society wherein collectivism is the norm. The second is a minority position in an academic culture wherein atheism has become popular. The cohesive irreverence and candid manner with which this blog is written have proved popular and reflect the general approach of the authors to such issues, in private, broadcast and online.

John-Wright.Net (at this address since October 2007) includes irregular audio podcasts from the KLPZ radio show and an interest in the wider issues of theology, music, ethics, general philosophy, science, technology, movies and more on matters relating to both the United Kingdom and the United States (and occasionally elsewhere). The comments section is open on every post, no matter how much or how little discussion is applicable. There is a minimal level of censorship, allowing all non-disruptive comments no matter the opinion or language within, while protecting the blog from spam and general disruption. All comments will normally go to the site straightaway without moderation. Discussion and free debate is encouraged, whether you agree or not.
