I think marijuana should indeed be leagalized for medicinal use, not just cancer patients though, I myself suffer from third phase disc degeneration, and body spasms from an accident a year ago (lower back) and one 30 years ago (severe whiplash). I was randomly drug tested yesterday, and I fear I will fail and loose my job, all because I choose to use something GOD gave us to use (Genesis 1-29). I need a major miracle to save my job,I've worked there 8 years with excellent job record, and one mistake will take it away from me.

Yup... love this thought. Ever hear of hemp? A very useful substance, for all sorts of reasons. BUT they're outlawed it, because they're worried about what people will do with it. Brilliant.

I've been having fun recently with the following:

So, we need a new/untapped revenue stream to rescue the economy... Anybody put any thought into...
Setting up a new government entity to deal with licenses, distribution and enforcement.... And making marijuana legal?... expensive and regulated the hell out of, just like they’re doing to cigarettes... but make it the gov’s cash cow? Heck... have folks register as government growers and let the government buy it from them as a home business... take your pick of regulation laws: like how much you can have on hand with which level of license... that sort of thing...

You’d get that revenue stream...
The wilderness areas currently used as illegal farms could get cleaned up and become safe for folks to wander into again...
They could decrease the funding for their war on drugs or at least adjust the priorities of it...
It could be used as one more piece of documentation to prove identity and /or address illegal immigration identification...
Job creation with the levels of paperwork and bureaucracy involved...

And really... the reactions of people on this thought are rather fun. Especially when the idea’s presented by someone known to them as never having tried it...
