Hi John, missed Dawkin’s on Talkback. Ive been searching for a playback but cant find one. What was it like? Anything interesting said? Did Dawkin’s perform well or did he lose his rag a few times? Nearly vomited when I read Mervyn Storey’s absolute BS in the Newsletter. The USA often gets bad press because of its wackos, but Northern Ireland isn’t far behind with the Free Presbyterians! Then I listened to one of those Answers in Genesis weasels being interviewed by Crawley. Those guys are well schooled in PR, slippery customer he was. William Crawley was trying to pin him a few times but he just wriggled out of it. To an educated listener it was obvious this guy was talking rubbish, but to others I am sure he sounded perfectly reasonable and convincing. Especially with the old “why not teach kids both sides and let them decide”.

    Joe,

Yes, creationists have been disappointingly incapable of defending their position, and yet so many people prefer to believe that they’re right rather than proper evolutionary science: it’s unbelievable.

I’ve had a hard time finding the link again… the BBC has fucked up their online listening archive. If I find it I’ll let you know!
