I'm no fan of Heath Ledger in particular but this performance was excellent. Of course, like I said in your other post there is much more that goes into making a performance great than what the actor does: direction and writing have a massive impact among other things. I think it's a pity Ledger died because there'll be the cynics our there who'll think people are just praising this performance because Ledger is dead. But the truth is it actually WAS a great performance. In any event any great film needs to be bigger than the individual performances of it's leading stars and this film certainly is. Of course maybe I think it was so grear because life has been nuts for the past few weeks and my son has been sick all this week and it was the first time I got a break from him.
