Dave- You're right, Whale is something of a Stern knockoff in some ways, although he does a very different kind of show from Stern, and the 'conspiracy element' in Whale's show appears to be the combination of shock-jockery and some other American talk radio influences like Art Bell and Coast-to-Coast AM. I used to stay up until the really small hours of the morning listening to it: Tommy Boyd, Nick Abbot, James Whale, and the late night guy Ian (somebody). All wonderful. And ever since Talk Radio changed the UK to my knowledge has never got another station like it. Talk Sport? WTF? I'd love to see James Whale in this uncensored format.
