I knew Apple didn't have children working for them, the allegations were stupid to begin with. I understand why Apple investigated and think it was a good thing they did, but like you I didn't expect them to find anything wrong. When Apple has contracts with companies like Foxconn, this stuff is hashed out and well understood.

You're right Rosalita- when we give the gift of capitalism, we inevitably make social improvements in the process. It's been proven time and time again. In fact, stable capitalism is the missing ingredient in countries which haven't developed as we have: the United States was once the frontier, now it's places in the Orient. Africa is next, and if the Middle East would ever sort out it's damned problems, they'd be the same (as places like the United Arab Emirates have shown). But the bottom line is; give them capitalism - even better - give them libertarianism, and in the process you've given them peace, social justice, relative equality, health and so much more. These things follow inevitably from the implementation of a libertarian/capitalist system.

Good for Apple actually taking this seriously and showing those who would take away its honor in this way that they are full of it. Yes it's like there is some kind of a blindfold on the people who don't understand that companies like Apple are going over there and making a positive difference.

Amazing how distorted a picture we get from people on these things, I always thought it was interesting that Singapore in the 80s was like that, and my husband had a company that went over there, and many other companies followed, and now the living conditions and pay rate is almost comparable to the States!!! It's like what don't they get about this? Everywhere we go to make money we end up making countries better. If only they had allowed us to do that in Iraq, maybe they'd be more interested in the money we were offering them than fighting between each other.

Nice work partner. Isn't it a pity that the great unwashed have little to say about the worse pay and conditions provided by local companies in these countries? It gives a hint that they might just have a hidden agenda: and it's hard to avoid the conclusion that they simply hate big companies because, well, they're big companies. I always wonder what these people have against making money.

Who knows what goes on in their addled minds, eh?

SG
